This range of Secured by Design casement windows are are manufactured by PREMDOR who have been approved by the UK police flagship initiative Secured by Design and built to Police preferred specification and feature factory glazed laminated glass to the outer pane to provide additional security for vulnerable windows, the inner pane is standard LowE glass. This range of side hung sash windows without top vents fitted with, reflex hinges, hinge locks, and anti-lift blocks, Espagnolette locking systems are fitted as standard and locate into keep assemblies at the top and bottom of the frame. High security Alpha windows are manufactured from top quality clear engineered softwood and constructed with combed joints for rigidity, they have a one-piece head and a two-piece sill without horns, this ensures that the casement window keep its shape, strength and performance qualities.

This range of high security laminated glass casement windows are supplied pre-glazed with clear laminated leaded glass to the outside and standard annealed glass to the inside in 6.4:14:4mm format. Leaded glazing is available in diamond or square designs, obscure Cotswold glazing to the inner pane is available at no extra cost, please specify when ordering. The clear softwood timber frames are supplied with a `honey` stain primed finish.

All timber used in the manufacture of Design 24 secure windows conforms to BSEN942: 1996 for classification of timber as follows: Class J10 for beads. Class J40 for sashes. Class J50 for frames. Design 24 casement windows are manufactured in general accordance with BS644: Part 1: 2003 for construction specification.

All softwood materials used are environmentally accredited 100% European Softwood. Manufacturing takes place in a factory with environmental Chain Of Custody certificate SA-COC-1483.

All timber is vacuum preservative treated and come with a 30 year manufactures warranty against rot and fungal decay. All arises (corners) are rounded to ensure even coverage of finishing coats. To meet the robust requirements of the Building Regulation Part L the `R` sub sill is supplied as standard (90mm projection = 157mm overall).

Sashes are manufactured with a 15mm x 42mm wide glazing rebate which meets NHBC regulations, and allows for the factory fitted 24mm laminated glazing units. Glazing beads are standard 12mm x 15mm, and the sill bead comes complete with nylon spacers fitted to provide a drained and vented glazing system. All externally beaded factory glazed units carry a 10 year manufactures guarantee. Factory fitted 24mm laminated leaded glazing conforms to BS952: Part 1: 1995; BS5713: 1994 and BS6206: Class A: 1994 or BSEN12600. Annealed glass conforms to BS952: Part 1: 1995 and BS5713: 1994.

Casement windows are tested for weather tightness and meet the requirements of BS6375: Part 1: 2004 for severe weather rating. Brown weather strips are fitted as standard to crate a watertight seal.

High security leaded laminated glass windows are supplied with ventilators to assist in compliance with section F1 1995 Building Regulations. Ventilators are white and easily removed for decorating.
